Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool passes to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. Livingston County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
A message sent directly to us may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical details whenever a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help show aggregate traffic patterns, such as popular pages and exit points. A browser can block cookies, although some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable load times
- Pass a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Measure which resources visitors use most
- Diagnose errors and other technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Livingston County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official sources, including the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS repository, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes and process submitted data under their own privacy policies. Each partner determines its retention and sharing practices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not govern the partner’s system.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Missouri agencies, legal aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination’s privacy policy controls. Read that policy before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and tailor ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted when the operator becomes aware of it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with a visitor’s location and applicable law. Missouri’s Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, and section 43.509 govern access to and dissemination of many official source records; they do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Visitors may still:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
